We are looking for host-families for players and coaches, as well as volunteers to help organize some fun events like a welcome get-together, fun family / team activities and a good-bye celebration dinner.
What's new in 2019? First, we will be hosting THREE teams of players - two boys teams and a girls team (their first experience in the USA). We are looking at 30-36 players (as of November 13th) who will be arriving into Easton on March 31st and departing April 8th. Organizers have taken the feedback from our 2018 families where they had asked for more time to host our guests and to allow for more time on a weekend to share with the South African players.
The current itinerary has our guests arriving Sunday, March 31st and leaving the morning of Monday, April 8th. They will have a complete planned itinerary for their time here that includes morning training sessions with Easton and Legacy Soccer Club coaches, visits to local colleges and universities for more soccer training and/or a game or two, and an afternoon in Boston. They will also participate with our Easton Youth Soccer clinics on that Saturday morning, adding an international dimension for our youngest soccer players. We’re finalizing the details of everything, but the a typical day could look like breakfast with your family with a drop off or trip to OA school for the morning, and a pickup (or dropoff) at the end of the day. Our guests will have a number of weeknights and a some time over the weekend to spend time with your family and to learn more about our culture, to share experiences, and have some fun.
We are in the early stages of planning home games for the South Africans to plan against local teams as well.
EYSL will send out a schedule once arrangements are finalized and will publish any updates as they come in.
